If you suspect a child is being abused or neglected call 440-998-1811 OR toll free 1-888-998-1811. After-hours emergency hotline workers are available to take your calls – please listen to menu options when calling after 5 pm week days, weekends or holidays.

Helpful Things To Know When Calling:

• Child’s first and last name
• Age of child
• Name of parents and others in the household
• Other siblings and their names
• Address of household
• Phone number of household
• Reason for calling (remember you do not need proof, only suspicion)
• Knowledge of any dangerous pets or weapons in household

You may remain anonymous when calling.
Although it is always helpful to have a name so e can get back to you if we need to, you do not have to give your name when you make a report. Also, we cannot under any circumstance release your name to the person you reported, due to your right to confidentiality.

• Discipline that places a child in substantial risk of serious physical harm or is not age appropriate.
• Engaging a child in sexual activity or allowing others to engage a child in sexual activity.

• Not providing for a child’s basic needs for food, clothing, and shelter
• Not providing age-appropriate supervision
• Subjecting a child to an unsafe living environment
• Not providing necessary medical care or treatment
• Not providing for a child’s basic education
