Pinwheel plantings are held at:<br \/>\nAshtabula County Courthouse Lawn- Jefferson, OH<br \/>\nAshtabula County YMCA &#8211; Ashtabula, OH<br \/>\nCommunity Action Buildings &#8211; Ashtabula, OH<\/li>\n<li>&#8220;It Takes A Community&#8221; Luncheon &#8211; This is our chance to share our success stories with the community by giving &#8220;Rising Up\/Moving On&#8221; awards to children, adult survivors or families who have overcome the challenges and adversity in their lives. We also give out our &#8220;Above and Beyond&#8221; awards to caregivers, community partners or individuals who have shown their commitment to helping children and their families succeed. It really does take a community to make a difference in a child&#8217;s life!<\/li>\n<li>Wear Blue Campaign &#8211; The second Wednesday of the month is designated as &#8220;Wear Blue Day&#8221; in the state of Ohio. Wear blue to show your commitment to child abuse prevention!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>May &#8211; Foster Parent Appreciation Month<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Each year we hold a special event to thank our foster parents for opening their hearts and homes to children in need.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>August<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ashtabula County Fair &#8211; Look for our table in the 4-H Building and join us for fun games and activities for children at no cost all week long!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>September<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Friends of Children Services Annual Golf Outing &#8211; Held the 2nd Saturday of September at Hickory Grove Golf Course in Jefferson, OH to benefit the Children&#8217;s Trust Fund.<\/li>\n<li>September is Kinship Care Month &#8211; A celebration of the people that step up to care for and ensure the safety of the children of relatives or friends going through tumultuous times in their lives.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>November &#8211; National Adoption Month<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Each year we hold a special event for all of our families who finalized their adoption during the year.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>December<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>To celebrate the Holidays, we distribute the many gifts that are donated by organizations, families and individuals who have &#8220;adopted&#8221; our foster children for the Holidays.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Check our Calendar for dates and times!
